Larry Wold, Wildlife Artist
Larry earned his Master Taxidermist status with Upland Game Birds, Waterfowl, Large Mammal Shoulder Mounts and Fish. He's won Best Overall Taxidermist 2 times in the state of South Dakota, 2 National Championships with Upland Game Birds and a Judges Choice Best Overall Original Artwork with a Bronze Pheasant.
Now living in Armour, South Dakota, Larry originates from Anchorage, Alaska. He hunts and fishes throughout the United States. He also collects multitudes of reference photos as well as experiences animals in their natural, real life settings.
Larry graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelors degree in Commercial Art and Model Making. He uses these skills to enhance the posing and composition of his taxidermy work.
In addition to working as a taxidermist, he's worked as a Professional Sculptor and Model Maker for over 25 years. Larry continues his involvement with several local and national hunting and fishing organizations such as the NRA, Pheasants Forever, the NWTF & Ducks Unlimited.
Larry proudly leads a team of volunteers that host the annual event - Armour Youth Outdoor Expo in Armour every year!
